Hayden + Adrian

While attending Auburn University in 2015, Hayden passed a donation table for “Be The match,” a national registry of volunteer bone marrow donors. Hayden had donated blood and platelets in the past so she decided to register with them. She knew it would be a minute chance of being a match for someone.

A year or two later, a love story began to blossom with a simple phone call to catch up with Adrian. He was stationed in Texas at that time.

To her surprise, almost a year after Hayden walked up to the table on the Auburn campus, she received a phone call from a coordinator with Be the Match. Hayden was a match for a baby girl with leukemia – Skye.

On May 5, 2017, Adrian proposed to Hayden and the wedding planning began.

Per Be the Match Policies, the two families (Hatfield-Ryals & Savren-McCormick) had to remain anonymous for a year. Hayden sent a letter through the organization to the family telling them how much helping their baby girl really helped her.  Hayden really wanted to meet the baby girl and when she was able to learn her identity, she communicated through email, phone calls, and Facebook.  For Skye’s birthday, Hayden sent a present along with an invitation for Skye to be her flower girl.

Skye faced many battles after the transplant including losing her spleen and developing lymphoma in her eyelid, neck, and back.  Her mother described her as a hero and calls her “Warrior Skye” when being interviewed by Dothan Eagle’s, Peggy Ussery.

A few weeks before the wedding, the doctors cleared Skye to come to Alabama. Hayden and Adrian married on June 9, 2018, with Skye as their flower girl and friends and family attending.

DeeDee met Hayden through a family connection. DeeDee’s Husband, Doni, has worked alongside Hayden’s Mom, Lisa for several years at Ft Rucker US Army Post. DeeDee learned of Hayden’s beautiful act of kindness during their Bridal Shoot with Mark Broadway at Point Clear, AL.

We are so grateful to have been such a small part of this beautiful love story. Thank you to the Hatfields and Rylas Families for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day celebration.

12 Beauty Mistakes Brides Are Bound To Regret

531393_10151506338045691_83302890_n

Your wedding is one of the most photographed days of your life. We put together a list of common mistakes to avoid so you can look your best in all those pictures.

1. Not wearing foundation

You will most likely be photographed with a high-resolution camera on your wedding day, which can show more redness and imperfections than the human eye can see. Not wearing foundation can translate to very poor pictures. Even if it sounds like a tall order, you should at least wear foundation, blush, mascara and lipstick or gloss to be as camera-ready as possible.

2. Experimenting

Your wedding day isn’t the time to experiment with red lipstick or smoky eyes for the first time. If this is a look you want and have never worn before, I suggest scheduling a trial run. Trial runs should be scheduled at least one month before the wedding.

3. Adding shimmer in the wrong places

Apply a sheer gold shimmer along the tops of the cheekbones, on the cupid’s bow of the lips and just under the brows.

4. Applying blush incorrectly

Concentrate on the apples of your cheeks, where you blush naturally.

5. Too much dramatic eye makeup

Smoldering eyes tend to look much better in person than they do in photos.

6. Forgetting your brows

Your brows frame your eyes and can truly change the entire look of your face. You’re going to want to define them with a brow powder.

7. Wearing a foundation with SPF

Many formulas now include sun protection, which is wonderful for your everyday look. However, on your wedding day, stick to a traditional foundation. SPF formulas can cause the face to look white in flash photography.

8. Getting a spray tan too close to the wedding

Don’t book your tanning session the day before the wedding. Instead, build color gradually over several sessions in the weeks leading up to the big day.

9. Waxing the day before

Wax brows or any other area at least five days before the big day to avoid marks, redness or scabs.

10. Forgetting about the bridal party’s hair & makeup

Your bridesmaids are going to be in dozens of pictures with you. Give them some guidelines regarding their hair & makeup so that everyone looks cohesive.

11. Cutting/Coloring your hair the week of the wedding

Don’t do anything extreme or drastic to your hair before your wedding. This means NO crazy haircut or color that you have never tried. If you would like to test out a cut or color, make sure to leave yourself with a good enough amount of time, just in case you need to fix a disaster! Cutting you hair before the wedding will allow it to be healthily settled before you get it styled on the day of. If you need a trim, go two weeks before your wedding day. If you need to get an actual haircut, go 3-4 weeks before so your hair has time to adjust to the new length.

12. Not packing an emergency kit

Some key products: your lip color, cotton swabs and tissues to fix any smudges, translucent powder for oily skin, and lash glue if you’re wearing falsies.

Caroline + Jerron

Caroline has helped several brides down the aisle through wedding coordinating for the Grand on Foster venue in Dothan Alabama. But on February 21st, it was finally her turn to experience the wonder of her own Grand wedding. On the morning of her wedding day, she made her way over to our studio (251 S Alice Street) to have her hair and makeup done before returning to the venue to help her bridesmaids get ready. Of all the brides she had seen through her work as a coordinator, she entrusted the job to Deedee and her staff. We had such a wonderful time preparing Caroline and getting her picture-perfect. Her choice of a half-up/half-down soft curl hairstyle complimented her sweetheart neckline dress wonderfully. She started off our 2015 bridal season beautifully!

Congratulations to the newly married couple, Caroline and Jerron Tidmore.
